Company achievements up to the present day:

In 2008, the project began with the live Internet broadcast of the only two Masterpieces of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity currently in existence in Spain: the Patum of Berga and the Elche Mystery Play. Xamberg Online is a pioneer of this type of broadcast and is the first and only organisation to have made live Internet recordings of these unique cultural works, declared as Masterpieces of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Xamberg Online also oversees the Fiestas de Catalunya special contained within the online edition of the El Periódico de Catalunya newspaper, which enables readers to follow a selection of cultural festivals that take place throughout the year, live on the Internet.

Xamberg Online began its activity with www.catalunyaonline.catand the live broadcast of the Patum of Berga 2008-09. It continued with the Fia-faia in Bagà, carnivals at Vilanova i la Geltrú and Sitges, The Passion and the Dance of Death in Verges, Reus Summer Festival, Guissona Roman Market, Cervera Witches Coven (Alquelarre) and the Saint Felix Human Castle “Castellera” day in Vilafranca del Penedès in 2009.

The same innovative and participatory spirit led to the creation of www.spain-online.info, which broadcasts festivals that take place throughout Spain. The first live broadcast featured the Elche Mystery Play, followed by the Tamborrada in San Sebastian, the Fallas in Valencia, the Festival of Moors and Christians in Villajoyosa and the Tomatina in Buñol, in 2009.

Many of the festivals mentioned were broadcast live on the Internet for the first time ever via our websites.
